Named one of the world’s ten best places to stay in a San Francisco Chronicle readers’ poll and praised in the Washington Post, Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast is also a guidebook favorite for Guadalajara Mexico.  Such public recognition is welcome, but a better measure of guest satisfaction is that people who stay once often return—typically more than half the guests at any given time have come back to experience a bit more of the magic of Mexico and Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast or are friends Guadalajara Mexico's Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast's frontage or family of past guests who have had Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast recommended to them.

In Mexico you never know what charming surprises await you behind unassuming adobe walls.  The simple turn-of-the-century adobe home at the front of the property quietly stands in front of a wonderful world of gardens, art and hospitality embraced by adobe walls.  Our garden suites afloat on an of ocean of spectacular flowers and greenery will enchant you.  This is just one of the many pleasant surprises that await you.

Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast is the creation of a bilingual American and Mexican partnership — Stan Singleton, an artist and chef who moved to Mexico in 1985, and Jose Gutierrez, a native of Guadalajara Mexico, accountant and avid gardener.  After travels in Africa, the Middle East, North America and Europe, they imagined a traveler’s oasis, a hospitable place to relax and absorb the art and culture of Mexico.  Starting with a turn-of-the-century adobe home and expanding into a neighboring property, the resident partners set out to create a bed & breakfast hotel that combined the best of both — the security, comfort and privacy of a hotel and the charm, exceptional food and personal service of a B&B.  And create is just what they have done while restoring as much of the original adobe main house as they could, truly a labor of love.

Stan and Jose, form just part of our wonderful staff of ten, welcoming guests each morning with a delicious breakfast and helpfully share local information necessary for a successful business or vacation day.  Travel to and from the airport and within the city is convenient, yet the short walk from Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast to the center of Tlaquepaque is a destination unto itself.  Tlaquepaque retains its original character as a colonial-era village famous for ceramics, mariachi music, and fine food and folk art — an island of centuries-old charm amidst the modern city.  Lake Chapala, the Tonala market and the distilleries at Tequila are nearby, but many travelers prefer the shopping, people-watching and music in Tlaquepaque as much as more ambitious journeys.
