Travel to and from the Guadalajara Mexico airport and within Guadalajara is convenient, yet the short walk from Casa de las Flores Bed and Breakfast to the center of Tlaquepaque is a destination unto itself.  Tlaquepaque Mexico retains its original character as a colonial-era village famous for ceramics, mariachi music, and fine food and folk art — an island of centuries-old charm amidst the modern city of Guadalajara Mexico.  Lake Chapala, the Tonala market and the distilleries at Tequila are nearby, but many travelers prefer the shopping, people-watching and music in Tlaquepaque as much as more ambitious journeys.
